Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CMM Operator – Dimensional Metrology Specialist for our direct client to support precision inspection activities within a manufacturing/engineering environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), performing dimensional inspections, and ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, GD&T standards, and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

CMM Operation

  •  Create, modify, and execute inspection programs on CMM equipment 
  •  Operate CMM systems using software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or PolyWorks
  •  Perform accurate measurement of manufactured parts and components 
Dimensional Inspection

  •  Inspect parts and materials to verify dimensional accuracy 
  •  Compare measurements against engineering drawings, blueprints, and customer specifications 
  •  Ensure compliance with GD&T standards and quality requirements 
Measurement & Tools Usage

  •  Use precision measurement tools including: 
    •  Calipers 
    •  Micrometers 
    •  Height gauges 
    •  Other metrology instruments 
Data Collection & Reporting

  •  Record inspection results and maintain accurate documentation 
  •  Identify and document defects, deviations, and non-conformances 
  •  Prepare First Article Inspection (FAI) packages and inspection reports 
Quality & Process Support

  •  Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections 
  •  Maintain lot traceability and integrity 
  •  Support troubleshooting of production quality issues 
  •  Communicate findings with supervisors and manufacturing teams 
Required Qualifications

  •  High School Diploma or GED required (technical certifications preferred) 
  •  Experience in CMM operation and programming
  •  Ability to read and interpret: 
    •  Engineering drawings 
    •  Blueprints 
    •  GD&T standards 
  •  Strong analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills 
  •  Hands-on experience with precision measurement tools 
Preferred Skills

  •  Experience in aerospace, automotive, or precision manufacturing environments 
  •  Familiarity with quality systems and inspection documentation standards 
  •  Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Compensation: $45.00 per hour
